Patrick Yoshikane D.D.S. - 3D Guided Implant
TRANSCRIPTION
I'm Patrick Yoshikane. I'm a general dentist in Orange County, California. I focus my practice on implant dentistry as well as general dentistry.
Here, when we talked about guided surgery, the most important part about implant dentistry is placement. When we talk about placement, in office, we have our own 3D CT machine and using that 3D scan information, we plan our implant placement with a computer. Why computer? Because the restoration or the crown, we call it crown down planning. The crown must be designed within the space that is going to fill. An implant needs to be placed within the long axis, below the crown. If not, then we're going to have a crown that's going to be offset. In other words, it's not going to be symmetrical.
With implant placement, we use local anesthetic. Most patients don't really need to be sedated. The procedures about an hour and a half from start to finish. I believe that the followup care is critical when you're providing any surgical treatment. And I always make myself available. I always give my patients my cell number. I believe that they should have direct access. They don't need to go through somebody or call an operator. They just call me.
